Q-Top Video Diary Update

There’s no shortage of opportunities for innovation –
you just need to keep an open mind.

So when Caz got fed up with wrapping bits of cling film and foil round the end of cucumbers to stop them going icky and wrinkled, her creative mind leapt into gear and came up with…the Q-Top.

The Solution: Q-Top serves as an end cap for the cucumber so any remaining portion of unused cucumber may be inserted into the cap and placed in the refrigerator for future use. The device creates a seal and slows the oxidisation process.

Coincidentally her husband Roark and his company Just Imagine UK Ltd. know exactly how to get ideas from the inventor’s mind into the marketplace. And thus was born the Q-Top.




Now it has won high honours at the British Invention Show, winning a bronze medal. Roark was thrilled.

“This just shows how good ideas can become reality, and do a great deal of good in the process,” he said. “Quite apart from the Q-Top preserving parts of the cucumber that would otherwise be chopped off and go to waste, think of the aluminium, plastic and paper that are currently wasted when trying, usually fruitlessly, to preserve the end of cukes.” Not to mention the scratches and scrapes people get when trying to cut a small bit of cling film or foil on the serrated edge of the packaging. Now all you need do is place the end of the cucumber into the Q-Top and put it in the fridge.

 



Q-Top is currently available online, and will be in selected retailers over the months ahead. We are currently discussing USA and Canada supply, Germany supply, and Middle East supply with three key distribution partners/customers.
